Martha Reisel de Lanczyner, auch bekannt als “Doña” Martha oder Miriam Rachel (ihr jüdischer Name), legt Zeugnis ab über ihre Odyssee quer durch Osteuropa und das sowjetische Asien. Sie floh aufgrund der Judenverfolgung in der Zeit Nazi-Deutschlands aus Lwów (früher Polen, heutige Ukraine), wo sie studierte, und ließ ihre Familie und ihr Zuhause in Kolomyia zurück.
